Is this special treatment or forgiveness? This guy gets caught for attempting to have sex with minors. They catch him in the act and he gets 9 months and his pension. What do you think?

Looks like they changed his status since the release of this story to "other than honorable discharge." But, why wouldn't this deserve a dishonorable discharge? Makes no sense to me!

The military can be full of nothing making sense. I lived on Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (the naval base) for 2 years and there was a naval man (didn't know his rank) that had a wife and kids. He was addicted to looking at child porn. Not just at home, but at work, on his computer.
Let's not forget that he work in the high security clearance building! He had had clearance to all kinds of top secret information, you would think he would think about them having access to his computer where they found the child porn.
All they did to him, from what I know, is transfer him off base.

It seems as if the military gives special treatment to their own.

having been a part of military life, it is a full-service government with our own government. I was a military wife and then my ex got a job as a military contractor.
While I support the troops and know how hard it is for them serving away from their families, there is also a lot of things that go on that anyone in the civilian world would not tolerate or be appalled at.
There are some good things, but it is defiantly a different way of life.
