A man ordered by a judge to make sure his daughter studied has found himself in jail because she failed to earn a high school equivalency diploma.

OMG...as hurried and harried as it gets with children...head count, head count, head count! I drive people crazy with the constant counting, but better that than this! Poor baby!

Way to go judge!! Do we know anything more about this situation other than the judge ordered to make sure his daughter studied and he got sent to jail because she failed? I mean, maybe the judge saw that this "poor child" was going down a dark path with drugs or gangs or something of that nature and knew that the dad could make a difference and he wasn't trying to help so the judge just gave him a little push, oviously it didn't help because the child failed.

Oh, and I wouldn't say "NEVER would I find myself in this situation..." You can't choose what the future will hold. You can only try your best to raise your children the right way and hope that the values that you taught them for all these years will stay with them when they turn into teens!!

Hawthorne 3 wonderful kids! step-son (17) son (8) girl (5) |
I don't think the girl's father should go to jail for his daughter's actions, especially when the daughter admits that she was wrong and her father wasn't.
As for the missing baby. I am really glad that airport security took such great care of him! Makes me feel better about people when I am in airports. They can be crazy! When flying home from Costa Rica, we have less than 5 mins in Miami to clear customs and immigration and get to our connecting flight all the way across the airport! And that was by myself with my 2 kids. I know how crazy connecting flights can be. (Luckily there was an airport official that was helping us as there were other passengers for this flight as well, getting us ahead of the lines and making it to our flight before it took off) But at the same time, as a mom, I would be checking which family member had my child before that plane took off. And if he wasn't found, then I would refuse to allow the plane to take off until I found my child, alerting all those everywhere to look for him/her. I have done way too much traveling by planes and cars and boats to know that you need to check. Tammy |

myspirit, the last time I traveled internationally was about 6 years ago, I guess, so things may have changed, but I seem to remember that when you have to take a connection, the airline(s) will not actually allow a booking unless there is a minimum of at least an hour between flights, as in it is encrypted in the reservation system to completely disallow it. I remember that distinctly with American Airlines, from one time when I had exactly 59 minutes between flights and I begged and begged and begged for the reservation, but the agent just could not make it happen. Had to lay over until the next day!

LOL I think there is a misunderstanding. I was referring to the lost boy. Much like TripleAmom I drive people crazy with my check, double check, triple check and then some. Even if I know my kids are safe with someone (even dad) I am constantly keeping tabs. Maybe it is just my style of being a mother, but I never, even for a moment, loose the ability to put that responsibility at the forefront of my brain... it is etched in the back of my eyes LOOOOL I know that there are lots of diff. kinds of moms out there and that is all well and good, we are all different, this is just how I am... eyes in the back of my head ha ha ha! |

Sorry!! I agree with you on that one!! I don't think that would ever happen to me!! If my child or children are with someone else and I'm about to get on a plane, I'm checking to make sure they are there first, but I doubt that they would be with someone else, they are usually stuck to my side!

Triple, we were supposed to have over an hour lay over in Miami, however our plane was late leaving Costa Rica, which caused the commotion when we connected in Miami.
I was thinking I would have enough time to feed my kids lunch before boarding the next plane, but nope! So we had to wait a few more hours before eating, well, except for those little 1/2oz bag of snacks they give you on the plane. |

Ooops, ah, yes, that'll do it. I was once stuck on a plane for about 3 hours where the A/C on the plane had quit working...in the Caribbean, in the summertime...and they wouldn't or couldn't let us de-plane. Oh, that was awful....everyone stunk by the time we finally got back in the air,, LOL!
The airlines will getcha almost every time! Jam [url=http://mommamoesblog.blogspot.com/url] |
