I just heard that there has been an indictment in this case but with sealed records as for who is being indicted - yeah, like we can't figre that one out! Anyone else want 30 minutes alone with the person who gave birth to her? (I have a hard time calling her a Mom)

Mary - thanks for the updated link, when I posted it was still sealed but I've seen a few sites confirming that Casey was the person indicted. No big surprise. Sickening.

For goodness sake, 100's of kids vanish everyday. Can the press spend a minute talking about the ones that vanished today, the ones we stand a chance of finding alive? It seems the sensational stories (Mom's posing in sexy photos) get all the press. My heart goes out to that little girl and all the people who loved her.

So, so sad. The whole story is just so sad. I feel awful for the innocent little girl and all the people that really love her.
And like LEW said, it is so sad to think that so many kids are vanishing every day. It will be interesting to see what comes of this indictment. |

I will be thrilled to never have to see a picture of Casey Anthony again believe me! I agree that if there should be half as much attention given to the multitudes and likely many more would be found then it would be a great thing. I guess this story hits home for me as Caylee is the same age as Macy and I just cannot imagine how or why...
Sorry if I offended anyone by mentioning this case, I know it isn't the only sad one out there. |

Michelle V,
I totally understand why this case is so interesting and horrific. We ,good parents, cannot imagine hurting a hair on our little one's head. I was just trying to make a point that this extensive coverage is not adding any value in finding missing children who perhaps are missing from more "normal" (AKA less sensational) households. Perhaps it is all those psyc classes I took in college, however, I cannot help but wonder what is causing Casey to be such a cold blooded monster. Did she suffer abuse as a child, was dropped on her head, mother ate poorly during pregnancy, was not held enough as a baby, or just a misfire in the brain cells? |

Well, from what I can gather as reported, she's not too far off the ol' family tree. If her own parents (specifically Mom) would cover something like that up and defend her, even claim we will all see her as 'mom of the year' at some point, there are many issues in that gene pool!!
I got a small sense of what its like to have a family member go missing. My step-MIL dissappeared on Thanksgiving 2 years ago and was eventually found in a heavily wooded area but not dressed to be outdoors in IL at that time of the year. This was many, many months later and we still have no idea what happened. Anyway, I did all I could do from this far away which was to register with online agencies and services who help look for missing people of all ages. It is heartbreaking to read their site and my hat is off to those who volunteer their time to keep those sites up and keep faces and names out there. |

Oh Michelle that must have been awful. I'm so sorry to hear about what happened. I can't even imagine how parents or family members must feel when someone is missing.
I think in some ways it would be harder to not know where your child was - to not know if they were hurting or scared or hungry - than it would be to actually deal with the loss of a child. Obviously either situation would be more than devastating, but at least family members could have closure if they knew what actually happened to Caylee. |
