me, me, me! We haven't taken our three yet, just because the two little ones are so...well, little, LOL! But we're saving up for that trip, probably year after next.

One question I want to throw out, though: opinions on Disney/MGM Studios? We were at SeaWorld over Memorial Day weekend, and had a blast. But our neighbors at the condo where we stayed went to Disney/MGM and were very disappointed. They have 3 girls (ages 11, 7 and 4) and just did not think it was worth it, so we told them to try SeaWorld. I've never been to Disney/MGM and had that in mind for later this year or next year, but now I'm re-thinking it. I'd love to hear of anyone else's experiences, before I throw in the towel on the place. Thanks.

We are annual passholders and have taken our one and a half year old to Hollywood Studios several times. I would definitely recommend it but there are of course cons. It is a hot park--not a lot of tree cover and lots of concrete. The pros vastly outweigh the heat issues (which can be avoided by enjoying indoor attractions). Your young children will love the Disney Playhouse show featuring all of the pre-school Disney characters. Toy Story Mania is a blast and fine for your three year old. There's tons of other things--street performers, the Art of Disney Animation, Jedi Training Academy (fun 'Jedi' training for little ones), Indiana Jones show, and so much more! Plus, you and Dad can do baby swap for the 'adult' rides.

If all else fails, you're a boat ride away from EPCOT and a monorail away from the Magic Kingdom. Have fun!

We have the passes too...but think Hollywood Studios is ok....if you are only going to do one or two parks...I would definitely say Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom...since your kiddos are young. I have to say honestly, if we didn't have the passes we probably wouldn't go to Hollywood Studios...the Playhouse Disney show is cute and Toy Story Mania was pretty cool...but my kiddos just didn't think the park was that great...Caeli actually said it was boring and the fireworks show scared the you-know-what out of Logan!
They will do a baby/ride swap at any of the Disney parks..which I think is such a great idea! TripleA...we have Seaworld/Busch Gardens passes...we should totally go down there together!! Smiler

yup, we should, we have the SW/BG passes, too! I'm a total park pass junkie! But hey, that one of the advantages of living in Florida, right?

MGM Studios also has the live shows. We have taken the kids to see Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid and both shows were GREAT and my 3 year old,(just 2 then) had no trouble sitting to watch the shows...she loved them. MGM is also great for those of us who love to shop!! I am glad I am not the only Disney junkie out there.

One more note...if you go early you can catch the opening show at Magic Kingdom. If you get there just as the park opens the train comes through with Mickey and pals and they do a number for all to enjoy...it was great too. We caught it by accident just getting to the park early one day..

Yes, I am a Disney fan! I was so surprised this year, I was planning a trip there on Christmas Eve in hopes of seeing the Christmas Parade the next morning. When I called to make arranges, I found out that the Christmas Day parade we see on tv is recorded. I was heartbroken. They said that it is taped during the last weekend in november and a weekend in December.

Yeah...it's usually taped the weekend around the 1st of December...and they use a fill audience. Basically, the girl who coordinates tv audiences, sends out an email and people sign up and assigned spaces when they get there. I'm on the list so when I get the email, I will let you know Smiler I usually get it around the beginning of Nov. But we haven't gone, because I have heard it's pretty crazy...we may this year though..since my girl is a bit older.

I have went to the tapeing of the disney Christmas parade....It's not really that nice.
You have to stand in a area and it takes all morning and they start and stop the parade at least 100 time to get the tv cameras in the right place.
if you go do not take kids they can't just stand there for hours they cry and get tired and hungry.
Don't waste your time wait and watch it on TV!

That's what I've heard. I may still take my oldest this year, only because she is so into everything Disney Channel right now...plus she lasted through the Food Network taping and I almost didn't...haha..so she would probably be fine and I would be the one complaining! The Food Network one was cool because my hubby made her this shirt that "I am the next food network star" and the host loved it so he kept bringing her up on stage and gave her a signed apron and stuff...she ate it up (no pun intended!). She also had one of the chef's ask if he could take his picture with her b/c of the shirt! It was pretty cool.

Hi All!

New here. Smiler I've tried to create an account a couple of times but it wouldn't let me. When I saw this question, I was SO hoping it would work this time.

We're a CRAZY Disney family. We get season passes and try to visit about once a month. There's me, DH (39), DS (10) DDs (7-twins) and DS (2).

We always stay at a Value resort. But last month, the day before a two day trip, Disney called and upgraded us to the Grand Floridian! Eeker I was jumping out of my skin. It was so neat to be that close to the MK. I told my husband I've got the bug for the Deluxe resorts now. Wink

I have been avoiding this topic for a bit, I guess it is in my nature (as someone who was not born here) to avoid two things 'FL Gators' and 'Disney World'.

However I do love Disney. Growing up up north, it was always what you saw on tv and what you 'heard' about. Some fantasy vacation, yadda yadda yadda

Then I moved here, and have been -several- times...and it is all that it is cracked up to be AND MORE

Love it. Yes I am a fan... however don't count me in on Gator conversations ha ha ha ha ha ha!

I was on the phone with my mom making last minute plans. The phone beeped and I checked caller id. It was The Walt Disney Travel Company.

I clicked over and the woman on the phone asked if I'd be interested in upgrading to the Grand Floridian for our stay the next day. Jokingly I told her I needed to think about it, but could barely finish that sentence before I starting screaming, "YES! We'd love to!!" Anyway, it was definitely a trip to remember, even if it was for only 2 days.

Disney is incredible.

My husband wants to move back to VA and I keep thinking how much I'd miss Disney (and my family, of course). He says there are other parks in VA but I tell him asking me to go to another park would be like asking him to live in the shed instead of the house. There's just no comparison.

All these posts have given me such a case of Disney fever....I think I'm just gonna bite the bullet and get season passes for our family.

Here's my "First Time at Disney" story: I was 8 years old, finally got to ride the "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" submarine ride with parents and little brother. We're tooling around the bottom of the tank in the sub and then, right in front of an underwater scary creature poised right outside my window, the sub breaks down we were stuck down there, under water, for about two hours. And I had to pee so bad.....no bathrooms on board the thing (at least back in those days). Ended up having to squat in a corner with Mom hiding me so I could delicately and carefully pee in an empty Coke bottle. Eeker

But...that has not lessened my enthusiasm for Disney...still love the place!

LOL, I'll never look at a Coke bottle the same way again. And I have to give you credit for your aiming ability. Big Grin

We love Disney. I haven't got new passes yet because my daughter is one and I want to take her again when she is closer to two. So me and my husband will get them again then. We get them just about every year except this year.

I love Disney and we went almost every month. Staying in Orlando is not a problem my mother-in-law lives there so it is great.

I went when I was nine months pregnant with my daughter and people thought I was crazy. It was ESPN the weekend so I couldn't resist. There were people that walked up to my husband and told him to take me home. But he told them you tell her she is 9 months pregnant. I had my daughter a week later.

Seaworld is awesome as well and cheaper for Florida residents. You can buy one ticket and it is good all year. So that makes Seaworld more attractive.

But both are great and we love them.
