Sorry. Not everyone shares your joy and excitement. I too could have made the statement "Salvation rather than damnation has fallen on our laps!" had McCain won. Personally, I feel deception abounds.

Personally, I think McCain's succession speech was beautiful, classy, heartfelt and necessary. I, now, vote for everyone doing what he asked of us and uniting behind our new president elect, as he stated he would, in turning a page in history and looking toward a bright tomorrow. As Obama said, he wants to be your president too, addressing those who did not support him, I hope that you will come to see that he will stand for making things better for all of us. I think we can all agree that change is needed. I saw a poll that stated 92% of people polled felt dissatisfied with the way things are. I do not think this is about damnation. I think this is about growing, getting better, healing and progress. OK, I have stated my case, feel free to rip me apart Smiler.

Our country needs prayer more than ever....I too blogged about the election... I also feel that deception is lurking. We need to be aware and vigilant...

Lew-I agree with you about John McCain. His speech was very moving and I feel his sincerity. I hear there is a chance he may still work with President Elect Obama as well. President-elect Obama is a diverse man-including when it comes to politics.

We may not always agree on the same views- but I beleive that Obama is misunderstood and more often rumours and gossip mislead alot of people.

President-Elect is a diversed man. We live in a diverse country. WE all are immigrants from some country beyond. We all brought our faiths with us, whatever it may be. This country is still a Christian country-but we also have many who have faiths of all types. It does not make us less of a Christian country.

So yes, our country does need prayers, and more then ever. Not because who is elected as President, but because we need healing, we need recovery, we need change, we need growth, we need God's blessing for each home, for each family including those who live in the White House.

This country and the world has spoken-they have voiced their opinons and feelings and in my own opinion, God has heard us. This is good. Something good and positive will happen.

As I said, we may not always agree on everything, your opinion and views are heard and respected. Your voice still counts!

I'm sorry that McCain did not win...but maybe because God knows something that we don't. So we just have to keep our trust and faith in God to lead this country in the right direction. If He thought McCain would be a good leader, I beleive McCain would had won. But the polls tells us, McCain was not the answer right now. Maybe someday later in the future, but right now, God is in control.

Yes, God is in control...just read Revelations...

God will remove himself and his blessings from this country if we as Americans don't want it. If the majority of those now residing in America don't put God first then He cannot be in control in America. He can however be in control of those of us acknowledging Him.

I pray that Obama makes better personal decisions in the future than he has in the past. I pray that his advisors are smart and loyal Americans.

I won't post anymore as I feel it is getting too personal.

I feel that it is a shame that in today’s society we still see everything in black and white.
I have heard so many negative comments about this election that an “African American” man is running for and now is President Elect of the United States of America.

I wonder if ( the American people ) could have never seen the delegates running for president and only went on what was said rather than what they look like would the outcome be the same or different.

Is it really still who you are rather than what you stand for or believe in?

If you can do the job that's what matters, not where you come from or what you look like.

I am not a political expert but the president is not the one that makes everything happen, its congress that runs the Country or am I mistaken?
The President can do all he wants and if they don’t want it to happen it will not.

I hope things get better for the hard working American people, we need things to change and they always do whether it is for better or worse that is yet to be determined all of the delegates promised all kinds of things now let’s see if “He” can deliver.

ITs strange, but I've never heard one actual criticism of Obama based on what he looks like. People like me and others are looked down on as bigoted because we dont agree with his ideas.

Judging a person by the content of their character is the goal, right, and not the color of their skin? And yet this time many of us have done that, and are still referred to as being prejudiced, as if there was no other reason to not for him.

Has anyone else felt this way? Like the only people talking about race are the Obama SUPPORTERS, and not the detractors?

I did not vote for Obama....I feel that the American people elected the man they wanted I did not feel he was the best man for the job but many did.
He is now elected and now he has a job to do.....lets just see if he can do it.

As the old saying goes.
Be careful what you wish for ( or should I say vote for ) you just might get it.

It's over now and we can go on with our lives and find something else to talk about.

He will prove himself to be what he said he is or not, that is up to him.

Nate-although I do hear what your saying, and I do understand what your saying, it does make sense. But....

I think the reason why "race" is talked alot is because this is something positive-this has opened new doors. Obama has opened doors of opportunity, not just for Black Americans, but also Asians, British,Latins, Europeans, perhaps even Russian. Oh I know that sounds to crazy and ridiculous. But remember this is a diversed country. ALL of our ancestors come from different parts of the world and many of us who are born and raised in this country...this opens more doors politically for many.

I think that is what this positive messege is about. Its NOT the main messege...what he plans to do to help rescue and recover this country. We have tried the Republican way the last 8 years, and nothing worked. Everything went down hill. Even the people in the world didn't like Bush. He has hurt this country-financially, politically, and emotionally. I wouldn't say spiritually. But this is why we need a change.

But your right, Race should not have anything to do with it, and it probably wouldn't if we've had it in the past.

I think in time, we all will be open minded and open heart and we will all see that we all are on the same page and OUR country will again be respected and loved, and people will see that indeed, God is still in control.

We need to give him the opportunity and the chance-to not only prove himself to us and to the world, but to allow that opportunity make the change-because it can happen. Give him that chance, as we gave Reagan, Bush and many others the oppoturnity and chances.

I'm pretty much on the same page as you Dee. Hopefully things are as they seem and Obama leads this country in the direction it needs to go.

I voted no for that. I think that was the only amendment that didn't go the way I wanted.
