Has anyone ever swept your Upromise savings into a 529 account? They don't service the Florida plan - which plan do you have linked to Upromise? If you have the Florida 529, do you transfer the savings from the Upromise to the Florida? Is this easy?
I am investigating the Pre-paid for my 3 y.o. I don't understand what the "tuition differential" is and why it is new this year.
Any advice and guidance on 529s and Prepaid would be appreciated.
OK, honestly, we've had UPromise for about four years, and it's really not that much money. Maybe a hundred or two ... and that's in four years. So we haven't done anything with it.
Thanks, Sarah. Glad I'm not the only one. We've accumulated only about $100 in three years. I've found that the most I ever get is from on-line shopping, not groceries.
Still, I'd like to get the 529 open and make additional contributions, too.
I think I'd really like to start a pre-paid account for my daughter. My parents had one for me, and it was such a big help. But I haven't heard about the "tuition differential" thing, jensen. I think I am going to check into it soon, too.
I think we have a whopping $10 in our Upromise account. We have prepaid for both kids and the amount for baby # 2 has jumped significantly then what I'm paying for baby #1 and if I don't get a promotion, then baby #3 is just going to have to study really hard and get scholarships cause its expensive.
We've prepaid for H, but not yet for E. I was listening to Clark Howard once and he said that you should save for your retirement before you save for your kids college. Sounds harsh, but we're hoping one of the kids is really smart and gets a free ride so we can use the pre-paid for the other kid....
