Is anyone doing these for their kids?

My ex-hub and I are doing the Florida Pre-Paid plans for our two kids as well as separate 529 plans for each. We're doing the 5 year payment plans on the Pre-Paid accounts (it's like car payments!) and then we put $ in the 529s whenever. We just did tuition on the prepaid and plan on using the 529 money for "other qualified expenses." My parents weren't able to pay college expenses at all for me and my two sisters so we're glad to be able to do this. I'll pay 5 years for their college and pass on having that new car for few years - a worthy trade off.

I wish I could afford it. However, when I am through school and have a decent paying job, I will do something for them.
But I know I will have to help then with scholarships, etc. I am already prepping them about good grades and helping other in preparation for the Bright Futures later. Tammy |
