As you all know my daughter has a really bad stomach virus and so my mom calls and says she is going to get my son from school and pick up some more Pedialyte. Thank you thank you thank you!!! I told her. Just as I thought everything was getting a bit better...my mom shows up and says to my daughter Nana brought her baby something..here I am thinking it was the Pedialyte and she pulls out 2 bottles of Pedialyte, cereal snacks, and a new cup..Next thing I know the phone is ringing it is her other grandma asking about her telling me to give her tylenol and on and on...as she is giving grandma commands I look down and my mom is handing my daughter a McDonalds kids meal bag..I quickly hang up the phone thinking I can some how get it away before she realizes what it is...how dumb was that thought as she all ready has a chicken nugget in her hand. Daddy pulls up to check on his angel while he was on lunch and everything is just crazy!! I'm thinking why did Nana bring McDonals when she is suffering a stomach bug and all she has to say is I didnt even think about that. I just thought it would make her smile!! OMG!!!! She leaves with my son and says she will bring him home later. Next thing I know she is calling my cell phone saying I will have to come get him from her office around 2:30 b/c she has an emergency meeting. Okay how in the world am I suppose to bring a baby who keeps throwing up out in the car to pick up my son. At this point I am going crazy and my husband informs me he is going to work late. I say to him By the way your angel is sick and your son has speech therapy at 5 pm what do you want me to do??? Oh ok he says I will be home around 4:30. Every thing settles down and I attempt to use the bathroom. Next thing I know I hear Arianna throwing up and as I am rushing to her aide she looses her balance on our tile floor and throw up and bangs her head on the cocktail table. WHAT A DAY THIS HAS BEEN!!! Any ideas for a stress relief at this point???

ummmm, prayer, with a Strawberry Daiquiri chaser? Oh, yeah, those days...those long, ripe, bleeding ulcer days....

Seriously, though, make sure you stop at some point and eat something yourself, to keep your own energy up...and as soon as possible, step outside, somewhere, to literally remove yourself from the scene of such family madness today...and when you can, take a long, hot shower, and keep reminding yourself that tomorrow will be better. If the kids will go along with it, put everyone to bed early tonight and you follow right along yourself. And a nice Tylenol PM won't hurt, either! Wink

It's a beautiful day outside...I would open your house up (to get some fresh air) and maybe sit outside with her for a little bit...about taking her in the car..boy that stinks..this may sound gross but I've done it before...bring a small container and if she gets sick....well...ya know...then you can throw the container away when you get home....
I hate those days when it's one thing after another...try to take a breather if you can Smiler

Good grief....Sometimes when you think that someone is going to help, they end up compounding the issue.(Not on purpose of course)
Bless your heart.
When hubby gets home, you need to take a long soaky bath, with a bowl of ice cream or chocolate. Definitely take a break Smiler
Just remember, this too shall pass!

I say we moms meet for a moms night out one night! No kids, no family members, just moms over appetizers and drinks for those who need it. Now, I have never been a drinker, but a Strawberry Daiquiri sounds really good right about nowSmiler

Back to you ... I know this has been a hectic, long day. Tonight, you need a long, hot shower or a bubble bath. I know it's hard to relax when your little one feels so bad. I hope she feels better, and I hope you get your bubble bathSmiler

just when i was beginning to wish i lived much closer to my mother, you reminded me why i moved just far enough away that she can't pop in unannounced.

i'm keeping a journal of things not to do to my daughter when she becomes a mommy! your story will fit right in. right under number nine reminding me to never baby my grandchild when my daughter is trying to deal with them backtalking! and my favorite is when i'm trying to get on to them for whatever and my father begins telling stories of how i was just like that and what terrible things i did. then he tells me i really should be mad at them for doing what i did. does he not remember spanking me for defiance when i was a child? rules don't change, our parents are just no longer parents, they are fairy grandparents!!!

I say yes...yes to anything that's not grape juice, apple juice, chicken nuggets, macaroni, or hot dogs. A real grown-up meal, and some real grown up conversation...show me where to sign up! Smiler

Last night was really rough...the little one wanted to eat at dinner so I gave her some plain macaroni and banana...She got a little sick but not much... However, daddy got a bit irritated after pulling a 12 hour shift when asked him to put her to bed for me so I could get a few minutes to myself. That created a petty arguement. So instead of hearing his mouth the entire time I fell asleep rocking her to sleep and woke up to daddy asking where big brothers school clothes are. I could have knocked him out. I told him to get him some out and iron them!!! Then I followed up by telling him to take him to school as well as I rolled back over and went back to sleep with my little angel. She whinned all night..and woke up several times so she never even made it to her bed we both slept curled up on one end of my bed with barely even a pillow...I was too tired to even notice!! This morning she is happier!! YEA!!! However she keeps burping and acting like everything isn't perfect yet. So we are eating dry cereal and pedialyte!!! Hopefully today will be much better!! Thanks for all your concern and support. I am totally in for a moms night out too!!
