When they are playing make believe sword fight and your son yells "Wait....pause the game!" And they are not playing on an electronic video game. LOL

Vermont 3: Husband (33), Boy (4yrs) and Girl (1yr) |
Before my first was born we got a fantastic high end digital camera. So this is what my son was brought up seeing us use. He sometimes sees others with the film style and says 'where can you see the picture? I don't see it!'
Of course my husband and I have been exposed to the latest and greatest our whole lives so it just seemed natural to pass it on. My 4 year old has his own computer (real) that he can very easily navigate and two laptops (toys). A few months ago, my son wanted clarification on 'the internet' so after about a half hour of discussion he finally said 'ok mamma, that's enough'. LOOOOL About ten min. later he said, 'now can you tell me all about the TV?' |

Freyja,
My son is the same way. He is a techy fan. Hardly anyone believes me, but by the time he was 18 months old, he could put in the disk and install his own computer games. He would play with the settings on my mom's computer. Changing her screen saver, mouse pointer, wallpaper, etc. Now he knows almost as much as I do and if he does know, he just figures it out on his own. He is pretty much self-taught. Tammy |

2. Ages 3 (Nov) and 1 (May) |
How about "You know your kids live in a digital age..."
1)when they're playing with pretend phones and "taking pictures" with them 2)EVERY time someone takes a picture the kids ask to see it 3)They would rather watch a movie in the car then look out the window or play games. Or they would rather watch a movie in their lap than on the regular TV. 4)Your 3 year old tells you that you have to play the circle movie because the rectangle movie doesn't work there. 5)The way they learn their letters is by finding their favorite songs on the iPod. And lastly I'm not sure if this is digital... 6)Your 3 year old asks if they can start the car (because it's push button operated). |

1 girl 11 months & 1 girl 3 years 1/2 old, and one on the way |
We are at the public library and they've added some fun pre-school programs to a few of the computers. Our 3 year old was doing some of the learning games and my husband asked her if she needed any help. She takes off the headphones, pushes his hand aside and says, "Not now daddy. I'm checking email."
