Wisconsin 1: Girl (7 months) |
Anyone interested in getting their kids music lessons? I am a former band director offering music lessons to kids in elementary through 12th grade. All Brass and Woodwind instruments. They can get help with school band music, solo & ensemble, festival, all-state, all-county, audition music, etc, or learn to play as a very beginner, for school or just for fun.
They will need to have an instrument already, or get one before the first lesson (if you need info on how to get one, I can help there as well!) The first lesson is free. See the attached flier for contact information and prices. (My phone number will be updated soon when I switch over to a 352 number, sorry for the inconvenience until then!) Hi Nikki!
What age do you recommend starting kids on a trumpet or flute? My dad plays professionally in a band, and gave both those instruments to my son who is 6 1/2 now. Thanks! Marianne |

Music is ageless. I would start by having him hold both the instruments, put his fingers on the keys, and see how he feels. If he can hold it and reach and press the keys okay, whenever he feels he's ready to learn is the best time to start! Flute may be a little harder for smaller hands because of the finger spread, but the best thing to do is try it!
