Do you use generic or name brand diapers? And are generic diapers worth saving a few bucks?

I prefer Pampers Cruisers. The publix brand is not too bad either. However, w/ coupons, I usually get the cruisers at the same price-or less.

I have not had a good experience with store brand diapers. Almost all of them leaked really badly every night, and my oldest daughter is allergic to them (maybe some kind of substance in them?). I have been using the Luvs brand for my oldest, which are a few dollars cheaper than Huggies or Pampers, but I have not had any problem with them leaking. Huggies has a silicon inside that comes out of the diaper if it gets too wet, and the tabs tear off easily when you try to put on the diaper. I know this from the daycare I used to work at. For my baby, I have been using the Pampers and Huggies that I got from gifts, and I really like the Huggies for non-mobile Infants. When I use the Pampers on her, they tend to leak overnight. I have not yet tried store brand on her, but will be as soon as we run out of the gift diapers. I think I will try Publix, though, because that is the best store brand I had with my oldest.

You get what you pay for -- that's been my experience. I have used store diapers before, and find them to be servicable; but they need to be changed more often because they arent as absorbant, they don't fit the baby as well, and are much MUCH easier to pull off. And they are more prone to leaks.
However, they do work. It's just like a car that gets ratty gas mileage -- you can still use it, but in the long run it doesn't save you any money. |

I used Luvs and store brand diapers with both of my kids. I only used certain store brands though, as some of the brands do tend to leak or hold less liquid. Since I'm from the north, I bought Kroger or Meijer brand.

I saw size 1 CVS diapers on clearance for $4.50 for a big bag at the CVS on 53rd ave/43rd st yesterday. Too bad my baby wears a bigger size.

lancaster, kentucky 2 official children (daughter, 5yrs...son, 6 1/2 yrs) do my hubby and chihuahua count as children? |
its been a while since my kids were in diapers but i always used generic. the ones from walmart...white cloud or the ones with ducks on them. we had the issue that name brand diapers leaked, generic didnt. and both of our kids would pee so much at night that we had to buy the overnight diapers. when we moved here my daughter was almost potty trained but was still in diapers for a while. we could get luvs diapers at save a lot so that's what we bought. i always had wonderful experiences with generic.
