Gainesville 4: Boy (10), Girl (7), Boy (23 months), Boy (3 months) |
Here is an insightful article into what it feels like for children diagnosed with ADHD. Although this is not something I deal with at home, the information is very interesting...a new angle.

Hawthorne 3 wonderful kids! step-son (17) son (8) girl (5) |
I deal with it at home and it this article doesn't really help me too much with understanding my kids more. I would like to know about the perspective of elementary age kids, since that is where mine is at.
But most of all I think I know my kids because I always talk with them and they know they are safe to talk to me about how they are feeling. And only that can build the foundation to help cope with children of ADHD and ADD. I also believe that these children need more positive reinforcement than other children, and that almost if not all of them have a high IQ, they just learn at different rates and in a different style than other kids. As a mom of 2 ADHD/ADD children, I am stepping off my soap box. Tammy |
