We always do the beach thing, this year I only have about 4 days, 3 nights that we can get away, we hope to be moving the rest of the week. We can do the beach but it's harder to find someone willing to let us stay only 3 nights and i hate hotels at the beach.

Thought about St. Augustine or Savannah but they're really pricey. Any ideas? Will go as far as Georgia but long trips are difficult with my children, remember, they love each other so much!

I'm with you. I hate hotels! I'd like to know, too, what's out there for a nice, short beach trip. I'll be taking notes...sure I'll need the getaway soon enough!

No way! You will HAVE to bring back pictures for us. When are you going and for how long?

We are going April 4th for a week. My daughter's 5th birthday will be celebrated there since her birthday fall within that week.
My husband is there, he is Costa Rican and the kids are so excited to be meeting all of their extended family and their older step brother.
And I will, of course, be taking 100's of pictures!

Hello, I'm new here. I'm a Mom to 3 boys (ages 3 yrs., 1 yr. and 6 months), a step-mom, and a step-grandmother.

Spring Break ideas: The Panhandle is beautiful, and in Valdosta, Georgia there is Wild Adventures Theme Park, cheaper than the Florida theme parks. But ya can't top that Costa Rica trip...so jealous!!!!

My husband and I like to take our son to Amelia Island. If you go to www.VRBO.com you can find a number of vacation rentals for very reasonable prices. The rentals listed on there are condos or homes so it is much more comfortable to have your little ones there instead of a cramped hotel.
Good luck, hope you have a great time!

Great tip on the link, Amber_Bruce. I may have found my resource for our mini-family reunion later this year. Thanks!

I use VRBO all the time. Always a great experience.

Anyway, i think we are going to stay on Tybee Island. right next to savannah. found several condos with pools right on the beach and most of their minimum stays are three nights!!!

woo hoo...i need a break!!!

I feel like the mom that is always working Frowner I only have so much vacation time to go around. I took christmas off with the kids so now I have to build my time back up. Hopefully I will get to at least the last Friday off and make it a long weekend. St. Augustine is always a favorite with my family. Even if it is just for the day. They love going to the beach. I haven't been to the Alligator Farm in years and the kids are begging me to go. Maybe we will check it out!!!
