I bet cuddling is good for all babies, as far as pain is concerned. Makes me want to pick up my baby and cuddle him right now. Although, he is sleeping, and that is helping my pain levelSmiler

My daughter was a preemie and I don't know about helping with the pain, but I do know that it helps bring up their temp if it is too low. I had her at NFRMC and they immediately told us about Kangaroo care, but I didn't do it with her because of my c-section. My husband did. It was the sweetest, most precious thing I have ever seem in my life.
What happens is, when you put the baby up against your bare chest with their bare chest, your temp rises and helps bring baby's temp up to where it needs to be. My husband did that everyday for the first two weeks, whether she needed it or not. That was like their special time.
Funny story.. We were in the Special Care nursery (AWESOME NURSES!) and my husband was sitting there, bare chested with my daughter one evening. He was sitting in a rocking chair with her and they came to tell us that they were going to bring a group of expectant parents by the window to view that part of the nursery. They opened the blinds and there were about 6 couples staring at my husband trying to figure out what he was doing. I guess they all thought that he was trying to breast feed, because he really got some puzzled looks. My husband, being the funny guy that he is, wanted me to hold a sign over his head that read "Got Milk?" Wink

He would still do it if she hadn't figured out that pulling his chest hair makes him scream. That makes her laugh! Big Grin And I laugh too!

What a cute, funny story.
One of our best friends and his wife, that live in California, just had twin boys yesterday. She was only 27 weeks into her pregnancy and although the Dr.s tried to stop the contractions they could not. She had them by emergency C-section. Both babies are doing good Thank God !!
