My 13 month old loves to crawl. She'll take steps here and there but will not walk! It's crazy cause I know she can do it. I've seen her do it. We walk all over the place when she's holding my hand, but as soon as I let go she drops to her knees. She can even stand up without holding on to anything. I can tell she thinks that crawling is just easier, but oh the fun we could have if she would just walk!

Ohh, she's gonna walk so soon. I bet it will be just days. In fact, I bet she skips walking and just takes off running one day. Good luck with that!

My daughter was just like that. She was taking steps on her birthday. But she took her time she is 14 months and started walking 2 weeks ago and now she won't crawl. I thought she would be walking by the end of may the rate she was going but she just took her time.

I think she is feeling it out and when she is ready she will walk. We did kinda nudge our daughter a little. Instead of holding her sometimes when we were out me and my husband would hold her little hands and let her walk with us. She was slow but she got all excited because she was big like us.

Now I just can't stop her. But she will walk when she is ready.

KidMachine84-My daughter was at the same stage as yours is, from the age of 12 months to 17 months. She FINALLY started walking on her own when she was a little over 17 months. She could do it, she was just stubborn (she gets it honestly from both my husband and I Wink). I sympathize with you, though, and hope it'll happen soon!

my son was 11 months (almost) and DD was 15 months. I know a boy that was 18 months..they all do it eventually when they want to ..enjoy not having to chase her!

17 months???? 18 months????? Oh wow! I am not one to push on these things, but I'm not sure I can wait that long. I guess I don't have a choice. I think it's so hard because I also have a 3 year old, so doing things like the park or the mall and what not are so hard with her crawling.
I like the idea of holding her hands and walking her like a big girl as much as possible. That's all we can do!
