Wisconsin 1: Girl (6 months) |
Does anyone know about negative effects of a camera flash on a baby? I'm just thinking that when people (including myself) take pictures of my 3-month-old and that the flash cannot be good for her developing eyes, right? But who can resist taking pictures of cute babies? Sometimes I forget to turn the flash off, and I want to make sure there's a reason for my feeling so guilty! She doesn't seem to mind, but I just can't see how it's good.

Nikki, you may want to ask your child's doctor about that since it is a valid question and concern.
something most of us probably never thought of. and i use to always take pics of Tim when he was younger. Safe hugz, Dee collegemomscafe.blogspot.com/ |

As far as I know, it's totally fine...in fact, there is a certain type of cancer that can be detected by how your baby's eyes reacted to the flash. Retinoblastoma (I believe it is) shows up when you take a flash photo of a baby or young child and instead of red eye, the pupil looks white.
Just a thought |
