Two boys, ages 3 and 1 |
If anyone's got a child or pre-teen interested in science, this sounds like a great opportunity:
The Kika Silva Pla Planetarium will premiere its new children’s matinee, “Molecularium,” at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 5. “Molecularium” is a computer-generated animated feature that makes molecular science fun. The creators have integrated advanced scientific simulations into a cartoon with kid-friendly characters to introduce young people to the world of atoms, molecules and the three states of matter... solids, liquids and gases. The project brought together a team of researchers, artists, museum curators and educators, technology designers, musicians, performers, elementary school teachers, students, and professors to create a truly unique experience. The 23-minute film is recommended for ages 4 and up. These run every Saturday at 3. Detailed show information is available at www.sfcc.edu/planetarium. Tickets are $4 for adults, $3 for seniors (60+) and $3 for children (ages 4-12). This message has been edited. Last edited by: RaisingBoys, |

I took my girls to this a few weeks ago. The planetaium, that is, not this particular film. It was very cool! definitely worth taking your kids to.

That's PERFECT for my boys! I home school and in the fall the science curriculum I am going to use is an introduction to chemistry so that would be a fun way to kick start the year with science!
