Do any of you have memberships there? What are your thoughts? It seems kind of pricey, but I really like all the classes they offer. I have yet to tour their facilities. But a friend of mine went a few years ago and she said it was dark and the children ran around seemingly unsupervised. What is your experience? Is it worth the expense?

We were going to have Caeli take some classes there last year...but honestly....we got the feeling that the kids ran amok too. We were sitting in the eating area and there was a sign up that the kids were not to go outside and we sat there and watched 3 or 4 go outside alone. Also, the employees were standing there chatting and the kids were running around screaming. Just didn't get a good feeling Frowner That was just our experience though..

A friend had a negative experience there. She went to pick up her son one day and he was nowhere to be found. He had managed to get outside and was in the playground, where the gate to get out was unlocked and standing wide open. Also, she had a number of days where her son was picked up, not having been fed the lunch she packed. Sure, some kids have days that they just don't eat, but she knows her kid's appetite, and they just plain weren't feeding him. Needless to say, she took him out of there.

I've only been there for parties, and for that alone, I've had no complaints.

Thanks so much for your thoughts! I might still tour the facilities and find out more about their classes, but probably wouldn't utilize it for childcare. Maybe I'm overprotective, but I like my kids to be supervised at all times Smiler

My 2 1/2 year old is a member at O2B, she goes to childcare and takes classes there, my husband a I LOVE it! Yes, the price seems kind of high to become a member, but you can take multiple classes. If you were to take your child somewhere else and pay for each different class you would pay SO much more. Now as far as the craziness, yes it does seem like the kids run amok. These are the afterschoolers so it is not like that all of the time. If you sign up for early classes so you do not have to deal with the crowd. Also, you could use the mid-town location off of 13th street, it is smaller. If you are looking for childcare, just know that there are two differedt builings at the supercenter loction. One is for infants thur 4 and the other is for afterschoolers only. I really think that you should tour. I know some the did not care for it, but I know more that love it. Good Luck!!

I went to visit the day care and it seemed nice, with security cameras and all but when I visited for a class in the upstairs area, it did seem a bit chaotic. And don't forget that, from what i understand, most of the "fun counselors" are college kids probably making minimum wage. So if you take your kids, you have to keep a close eye on them. But that is to be expected anywhere.

Yes they have a lot of young employees there..Some are there for the right reasons but most just need money and there to make a check only. It is absolutely crazy in that place. I am sure they have good and bad qualities like most places. They have weaknesses too. I know my friend went to pick up her son and they had no idea where he was or who he was with. Come to find out where they thought he was he wasn't. And where he was located is where he should not have been. Then I have another friend who swears by it. I think it is a parental choice. Depending on the quantity of supervision you want as a parent.

At my son's last day care, I would show up and the place was always chaos, which is the main reason I took him out. I had to think, if it is like this when I show up, imagine what his days are like. A lot of times, it is in those chaotic times when children are missed or hurt. And of course, no one MEANT for it to happen, but it is bound to happen when there is no order. I think a chaotic environment is a red flag that we must be aware of.

When my son went to home daycare his babysitter was totally against chaos. everything was in order..schedules were in order..the children knew what was going on when and how to behave.. I loved that about her!!! She is the only person I have ever let keep my son. She actually started when he was 14 months and kept him until he turned 6 years old. The best home daycare provider I have seen in a while!!! Too bad she stopped keeping children and is now pregnant with her 2nd child... A baby girl!!
