I'm planning on going to one of the springs tomorrow with a friend, and was wondering which ones you all recommend? I know some of us were talking about it at the last field trip, but I can't remember the names! Thanks!

Hawthorne 3 wonderful kids! step-son (16) son (8) girl (5) |
My favorites are Silver Glen and Ichnetuckee. I live Silver Glen because it's not that far in relation to where I live and it has a great beachy area for the kids as well a great are to snorkle.
I haven't been to Ichnetuckee in years, but I would love to go again and float down the river on a tube! Tammy Architect major @SFCC, working my butt off to get into UF. |

Rum Island. On a weekday it's great, there is hardly anyone there.

Thank you! I'll have to check those out. We ended up going to Fanning Springs yesterday, which the kids loved. I just wish there was more of a beach-y area for them to dig sand in. But the water was nice, cool, and shallow. And after lunch, the kids played on the playground.

If you are looking for a nice little beachy area, then Blue Springs is a great place. I love it there!
