My MIL is so great with our new son (according to her he's perfect so we can tell he's gonna be spoiled already because we think he's perfect too) and he will spend a lot of time at their house. We have named Grandpa already 'Papa Jack' but don't know what to call "Grandma." We want something cooler/cuter. I think the baby will come up with it on his own right? I really want to hear your names! Any Memaws or Grammys out there?

My kids have a Mema (meema) and a Papa, thats my parents. Then my husbands mom is Mamaw (first syllable pronounced like the word Mam as in yes mam no mam)

Almost forgot one of my best friends daughter calls her grandma momaw (moe-maw)

We have a Grandmom and Grandpa, and a Nana and Papa. Not all that original, but it's the loving way in which my son says them that makes them so special. Smiler

My mom is Nana... hubby's dad is Popi (K came up with that all by herself Smiler) his step-mom is Mamaw, his mom is Grandmama and his step-dad is Papa John. I wasn't all that thrilled with with the names that they all wanted to be called at first but it's not so bad anymore.... I will say though that I am SOOOO happy that K decided to say Popi instead of Papaw LOL

My parents prefered "Poppy" and "Grami". When my daughter learned to talk, even though we'd been using those names since she was born, she chose to call my parents "poppy" and "Nini" (pronounced "nee-nee")-which is so cute. My mom really likes being called "nini".

My kids have a huge variety, as my husband and I both have divorced parents.
My grandmother is MyMy, my mom is Nana, my dad and his wife are Pa and MamMaw Dixie, my husbands mom and step-dad are MawMaw and PawPaw, and his dad and step-mom are Grandpa (which comes out sounding like "Tampon" when the two yr old says it) and BooBoo.
It gets confusing to us adults, but the kids have it figured out.

We call the grandparents Papa Chuck and Grandma Jeannie etc. We don't want to confuse the kids because hubby's parents are divorced and remarried so there are many grandparents. When J was real young though, she used to call my Dad Paka. I don't really know why other than maybe she just couldn't pronounce papa at first and it stuck.

Granny and Grandpa. It's a long tradition going back many generations. I like tradition.

Mimi and Pop-Pop. We were TOLD that's what our children would call them. "Mimi" because it supposedly sounds "young" and "Pop-Pop" because child #1 supposedly said something similar when she first began speaking.

The kids like their grandparents' names so all is fine.

We've got a Grandma, a Grandpa, a Granny, and a Mamau (great-grandmother) The wife and I decided on the names to avoid confusing the young ones.

My grandparents were Nana and Poppa, Grandma Bess and Granddaddy, and JanJan (she wanted to be called by her first name, Janice, and I changed it to JanJan as the first grandchild) and Papa Dew.

My husband has Memaw, and Nanaw and Poppaw.

My parents are Grammy and Peepaw (my dad had a poppaw that he adored). My husband's parents are still grandma and grandpa, but I am sure that once my son starts talking more, he will give them something more unique. They have been waiting to allow him to name them as he is their first grandchild.
