Gainesville 4: Boy (10), Girl (7), Boy (23 months), Boy (3 months) |
Do you have a favorite spot that's not too far from Gainesville? My hubby and I are planning on going away for a weekend, for my birthday. We want to go somewhere we have never been before. Somewhere close to water, but a place that also has fun things he and I could do. Okay, and a fat place to get a tattoo. So probably a place near a bigger city. Any recommendations?

How far do you want to travel?? My husband and I have been to Myrtle Bch, that is great. We have also taken a weekend in St Augustine which is alot closer. St Augustine has lots of nice places to visit...the light house is great. Supposed to be haunted...was featured on Ghost Hunters. The view from the top is awesome. There is also an old shopping village with alot of cool things. You walk through and browse. Lots of place to eat too. Nice place for a couple to get away. You can stay in a bed and breakfast, they're kind of romantic.
Good Luck!! |

Suzy...I heard that Destin, in the panhandle, is really pretty and it is close to Pensacola, which is a military town(lots of tattoo parlors).
Good luck and have a great time! |

We love to get away to Sanibel - a little B&B called Tarpon Tale Inn on the east end (the old part) of the island. They don't cater to kids, though - so it's a real getaway. There are fabulous bike lanes, separate from the road - believe it or not, bikes trump cars on the island! Beautiful beaches, quiet restaurants (no fast-foods except a really old Dairy Queen), wonderful spas - but I'm not sure about the tatoos... if not on the island, maybe in Ft. Myers Beach?
