One son, 7 months |
I need some help please! I have very little guidance when it comes to feeding my baby solids. He is now 7 months old and has been eating solids for a while. I started out with the stage 1 foods and went through everything like I was told to, new food every 5 days, etc. My question is this, he is now on 2nd foods and I do this twice daily. Should I be feeding him 3 times a day and if so how much, the whole jar (4oz) or less/more? When does he go to 3rd foods/finger foods, etc. I know every baby is different and mine eats well, he does ok with textures, for instance, I have mashed up bananans and made homemade butternut squash with more texture that he has to gum and he does fine. He still has no teeth though.
Any input is much appreciated!! Thanks |

I suggest following your baby's cues. When I had my first, he was hungry to try solids and textures. I would just try him with something, and watched how he took to it.
I wouldn't worry about him not having teeth, babies can gum things up fairly well. With things you fear are choking hazards, use one of those baby safe feeders. I loved mine and used it with both of my kids. (looks like a giant paci, only instead of a nipple it has netting) Tammy |
