2 girls (3 and a half, and 9 months) |
Last night the wife and I went out to dinner, then a movie. It was so nice to have a few hours off from the kids.
When you all get a Date Night, what do you like to do? And how often do you get them? |

We do the usual dinner and movie deal sometimes but it's so expensive and I don't feel that we've actually spent time together--just sat in front of a bigger TV so...we often go to Super Walmart (Super-dub) and hang out, walk around, pick up little things we don't need like beef jerkey and baby socks. We actually do this as a date! We also go walk around Lake Alice a lot and have for 5 years now...it's where he proposed. I feel more bonding this way since he's not much of a talker and when we walk and talk it feeds my soul.

California 3 boys (7, 5, and 3) |
We went on a date on Monday night - our first for a while! We went to Cabana Cove (ate dinner and enjoyed 2-for-1 margaritas). Then we decided to go to Lowe's for some uninterrupted browsing sans kids! That's about as exciting as our dates go, but I love it

sounds fun, marianne!
I guess the important thing about date night is a period of time without anyone saying "daddy daddy daddy! mommy mommy mommy!" |

My husband and I are going to see Dark Knight this Tuesday for our 'date night'. We will have dinner too. Yes, the most important thing about date night is time away without hearing Mommy!! Daddy!!!

We haven't gone on a date in quite a while, but you're all inspiring me to plan one for this weekend. We usually just go to dinner (sushi, not very kid-friendly), hang out with friends, rent a movie or go to a play at the Hipp.

Last Tuesday, the hubby and I went to Orange Park (since they have $5 admission over there and it's only a little further than Gainesville) and saw the Dark Knight. Then we stopped at a party supply place for the Scooby Doo party theme stuff for Emma's 3rd birthday. Then I ran in Joann Fabric to see if they had some bathing suit material that matches a top I have. Then we came home and took our sitter (his sister) to the steakhouse, Cowboy's , in Starke. That's about as much as a date as we get these days.
In our BC days, we went to the Melting Pot alot. It's expensive, but we were both working and it's really a fun time. |

Caryn -- I remember the Melting Pot fondly, as well. Sigh. Those were the days

I love the Melting Pot. It used to be our Valentine's Date, then it was our anniversary date, now I go every once in a while with my "girls"
