# of kids: 1 new baby boy

I've been wanting to talk about this for a while but didn't want to sound crazy. I've been giving parenting advice (when asked) and identifying with moms for years based on my experience with my 9 year old...dog that is. It really is nearly the same experience considering the feedback I received! This morning it was all too clear that baby #1, still in utero, is actually child #3. I awoke to my cat throwing up on the bed and floor. I yelled for my sleeping husband to get up and help me change the sheets and while he was in the kitchen grabbing cleaning supplies I hear his yell...oh yes...he steps in dog pee. We spend the morning rushing around, getting animals out of the house, cleaning up, and finally make it back to bed in time for his boss to call him in early to work and my doctor to call for me. Yes, this seems like a typical day in the life of a mom...with 3 kids.

Yes-that is pretty much it. However, you probably did not have to do that 2-3 times during the night Smiler.

It's not unreasonable or crazy. My dog is officially my first child. When she was a puppy, we took an obediance training course. And strangely, the methods I learned there (with the exception of yanking on the collar) I found acutally work with kids too. Like positive reinforcement, repitition, repitition, and praise.

Like the saying goes, "you ain't seen nothin' yet!" A few years (and maybe a few kids and/or pets later), this will seem like one of the good ol' days!

Just remember, when the baby comes you can't tell him/her to be good and then leave for the store, you can't send him/her out to play while you clean up the mess that he/she made, and nope, dog whistles don't work for calling them to come to you. (I tried the last one...for some reason, I son didn't respond to the whistle, lol)
Enjoy your last few days before baby comes...I know, ALOT easier said than done. Wink

So true. You know my dad whistled for my brother and I and to this day we will be walking together and stop and look (ready to run for home) when we hear a whistle! So funny!
