We had SUCH a blast! Food, fireworks, swimming, S'mores around a bonfire. It was the best ever! Tomorrow morning, we are headed to the beach. Doesn't get much better than that. We made great memories!

How about you?

The 4th of July is my mom's birthday. It is also my new baby girl's birthday! She was born at 9:14 a.m.! What are the odds? Needless to say, this 4th was not spent outdoors, but it was a day of celebration and excitement for the entire family!

I had a great Fourth...it was a little weird though...we spent the 4th with a couple I used to babysit for when I lived down south. I started watching their kiddos when I was 16 (I just turned 36!) and their kids were 5 and 1...they are now 21 and 25! Here's is why it was weird....
After I moved here, I tried to make sure I stayed in contact with them. We would email back and forth. Plus the mom had worked near my mom's house for a little while, so they stayed in touch as well. Well, many of you know my mom passed away four years ago and my mom used to send me "hellos" and such from them. When we bought our house a year and a half ago, I had lost contact with them. I had been emailing but not getting a response. I was really bummed. So, on my bday this year, we stopped by Walmart on our way to the beach and we were walking towards the checkout...I look up and there they were...in the Walmart here!! I almost fell over! Apparently, they had come up for preview (for their son)a couple of years ago and really liked it. So, they bought a small house in McIntosh as retirement place!! I could not believe it!! I told my hubby it was a birthday present from my mom!
We spent all day on the Fourth in McIntosh with them and had a GREAT time! I will post some pics tomorrow Smiler

Our fourth of July was great - swimming, burgers, family - but no fireworks for my 2-year-old. Unfortunately, she is pretty scared of them. We tried showing them to her last year and at Disney, but she shakes, puts her head in my shoulder and says she is scared. I know she would like them if she would just look a few seconds, but I figured it wasn't worth it. Did anyone else have this problem? Do they grow out of it?

Ours was terrific. Went to Tampa for a few nights with several members of my family to spend time with our youngest son's birth mother and her family. Had a cookout, swam, just hung out and then went to Busch Gardens on Saturday. Baby A got to meet his 94 year old "birth" great-great grandmother from Sicily. Awesome family time spent.
