So, I joined a site called House Party and you can apply to host parties for various things..like right now they are running some for the new kids Ben 10 movie, Hershey's chocolate (YUM!), and I just got picked to host one for Ford's Big Give...it's tied into Oprah's Big Give. I don't have all the details yet, but they send a huge party package out with all kinds of cool stuff. I did one for Clariol Haircolor and they sent me boxes of color and all kinds of shine treatments...lots of stuff....anyway, I was actually wondering if anyone would like to come to the Ford Big Give party? It's going to be at my house, I think the first weekend in April. I have to get all the details settled. I'm hoping it will be lots of fun...and Ford is choosing at least 1 host to give away 2 brand new fords! Let me know if anyone wants to come and I can send you an invite through email Smiler

There is no buying or anything...they do them for different things. This one is for a tv show/Ford...they also do them for products and such, but they give the host everything to make goodie-type bags for everyone to take home. As soon as I get everything finalize, I'll make sure to let you guys know....I have had a couple before, but since I don't know that many people they have been kind of small...I am hoping to do this one a little bigger Smiler

Haha...nope no buying.. I know when I first signed up I was thinking it was some sort of scam or something....but it's a really great way for these companies or shows to get people to take a look at their stuff. I was amazed when I did the Clariol one at how much stuff we got. It's looking like I am going to have to do it on April 6th...it's tied into the Oprah's Big Give show and Ford is giving away is partnering with her to give as a big giveaway 2 new Ford cars and 25,000 dollars...for one of the parties to give away and then 10 more parties to give away 1 car each! We had to submit our idea as to who we would give the cars and money to...so I said that I would give the cars to the Ronald McDonald house for visiting families to use and then the cash to an organization that a mom I know started...she is super cool...if you get a second to check out her site, you will be incredibly inspired! www.mothersfightingforothers.com
I let everyone know about a definite time after I get more info Smiler

I just checked out the site. Very inspiring. Where is she located? Is she local?

When you are ready with the details, be sure to ask for contact info. (emails) so that you can give out the details privately. I am trying to get the Private Messaging functioning properly, but I am not sure if it is yet. So, just to be safeWink

Scratch that...Private Messaging is up and running- a great way to send out the details of your house party. You can count me in!

OMG!! I would love to come to this, however I am going to be in Costa Rica at that time.
Is there going to be another one, or is there a way I can do one over the summer? I would love to find out more about this.

Bishop96, please keep this Mom in mind, although if it is definitely this coming weekend, that leaves me out, as I'll be out of town...but I love the idea of these parties, and would love to be kept up to date and informed....add me to your list.

I'm going to make another post about this too...but I've run into a huge dilemma...a couple of months ago, we made plans with my best friend and her kids (from GA) to go with them to Orlando...now I love my friend but usually our plans get changed or canceled. Well, unfortunately they didn't! They are coming into town Friday night and we are supposed to go to Orlando with them for the weekend! It looks like I'm going to have to cancel my house party...I don't really want to but my friend is divorced and is having a hard time..I also don't want to cancel...ack!
But the good news is....I just found out that I got picked to hold 2 more!! One is for Hersheys...yep chocolate!! And the other is Aveeno! The Aveeno party is scheduled for April 12th and then the Hershey one can be either April 25th, 26th, or 27th.....so do you guys want to come to one or both? Which date for Hershey's would be better for you?
I'm really bummed about the Ford one...I am still going to make sure I watch the show..it is Sunday at 9pm...
Let me know what you guys think about the other ones...
