I found a great way to get my husband to put his clothes in the hamper...just don't wash them. When he's out of underwear, he'll get the message Wink

I will also try the secret box. That is an AWESOME idea! I am constantly telling my kids to keep their toys in their rooms.

My hubby always left stuff in his pockets which I never check since I don't do that. After I washed his MP3 player connecter by accident and also washed a couple pens and his clothes with sticky candy (all left by him) he finally quit.

My mom took all my clothes sometimes that I left in piles around the floor. It worked but she's not around now and I do it so...

Hi all,

There is a great website called motivatedmoms.com. It provides for a very small fee (maybe $8/year) a moms chore chart.

Every day you have a few chores you do such as making the bed, cleaning the kitchen sink, wiping out the bathroom sink, etc. Then you have additional chores like cleaning the top shelf of the fridge, cleaning out the outdoor trash can, disposing of expired coupons, cleaning out a kitchen drawer, etc. It is very nice. My house may never be cleaned "all at once", but I don't fear friends dropping in unannounced anymore! I also get to things, like the fridge or the hall closet on a regular basis, where before, I didn't. It really takes about 30 minutes per day and I'm free to do other tasks.

i grew up never really enjoying my mom because she was at it until she dropped at the end of the night. our house was always spotless even though she also worked a 40 hour a week job, cooked three meals a day and did all the laundry.

i decided i was going to have fun with my kids. we attack it together when we have time and both kids have a few chores for after school but you know what, the world will not end if we run out of clean socks, they sell them at the dollar store across the street. i want to be remembered for never missing a game and for playing rummy until we can't hold up cards anymore, not for having the cleanest house on the block.

don't get me wrong, we do not live in filth by any means but we also don't flip out if beds don't get made or if there are dirty dishes in the sink when we race out for breakfast at the resturant before school with all the kids on the friday morning before a big game.

I found that keeping a weekly chore list helps to get things done and stay on track. After my daughter was born and I became a house wife I got tired of always cleaning now that I know I have to get things done on certains days I can plan my day around it. Smiler
