Alright, so we did favorite places around town, now what are your favorite restaurants. We went to Newberry's BBQ tonight -- my fave. Even though I've been sick for five days and have no appetite, I still managed to put down a couple of those onion rings! I also love Chop Stix on 13th Street -- great Asian food, and lots of vegetarian options.

Well, I hate to say, because every time I find a new fave, they go out of business. But throwing caution to the wind, I'll say Ballyhoo's and Macaroni Grill, and the Schezhuan (sp?). I really miss some of the old Gainesville faves...I think of them so fondly because when DH and I were dating, we ate out a lot, and some of the oldies but goodies hold a lot of memories for us....Rigatelli's, Ruscito's, Tony & Pat's, Schezhuan Omei, Semolina's, Brown Derby...we also love Napalatano's...the place of our very first date! Glad it's still kickin'!

Ohhh, I miss Tony & Pat's pizza. It was so yummy. But I actually read in The Sun today that they're planning on reopening in November!! They'll be at the old Ruscito's on NE 23rd Avenue.

Are you all reading my mind????? Eeker

I was just thinking about posting a thing about my favorite restaurant
And I was at my very most favorite restaurant in Gainesville
(we’ll other than seafood) Smiler

It is the best Mexican food in town

“La Fiesta”

I have been eating there for 20 years and I am there so often I can even tell you when they get a new cook….lol

In fact Brandy and I were there several years ago and our food didn’t taste right….not bad just not normal.
We asked the owner if they had a new cook because the food was just not right and he said yes and he was so nice he gave us our lunch for free and said if you come here that often I want you to come back.

It is the best place ever!!!!!

Oh I can't believe I forgot to say Satchel's! What a fun and quirky place! I could spend a long time just soaking everything up Smiler And the pizza's good, too.

All time favorite resaurant for just me and my hubby is Macaroni Grill, I'm such a big fan of really yummy Italian food.
Just recently I head a rumor that Grill Masters closed... is that true? In the same rumor I heard that Bennigans and Macaroni Grill were scheduled to close as well, is that true? If anyone knows please let me know, I would be sad to see all 3 of those places gone.
