Can I get one that doesn't leak please?!?!?! Maybe it's just because he a newborn so he has those runny poops but all his diapers leak out the sides of their "leak protection elastics." It is quite frustrating cause he ends up wearing 3 different onesies a day sometimes (or nothing all day). I like Pampers but Huggies and Publix brand do nothing for me/him. Is there a secret I don't know?

I had the same problem with my daughter in pampers and huggies... They are the higher priced and I feel they are crap!! I actually really like the White Cloud sold at Walmart. They are also cheaper...like $16 for the big box. Ever since I switched my daughter to these I haven't had an issue with her leaking out of them anywhere. I also had a friend who had the same leaky issue with pampers..she switched to the White Cloud and now she swears by them..they may work better for you as well.. If anything try the small pack and see what you think.

I used Huggies Supreme..and then the Overnites for...well...overnite. The only time I ever had a problem was if the diapers were too small. I always went up to the next size before they were in the weight category for that next size. I never had leaks once I went to the supremes...however I had girls and you have a boy...I think boys may be a whole other story when it comes to leaks!!

Good Luck Mary!

Mary - I remember those days. My daughter was the same way! She pooped out of almost every diaper (we used Pampers), and I could never understand why or how. So rather than just having to change her diaper, we had to change her from head to toe almost every time.

But the problem eventually went away as she got a little older and didn't have such runny poops (like you said). About the time we started supplemnting with formula/feeding her solids, she stopped having to have an entire outfit change for a simple dirty diaper!

I think that different diapers definitely work better for different kids. My niece can only wear pampers, where as my son can only wear huggies. The trick with him in any diaper is that he needs to be "aimed downward" and the "ruffles" on the legs have to be out, not caught up underneath.
I learned very quickly that if his aim shifts within his diaper, he can pee right out the side or top and his diaper stays perfectly dry!
We also learned just as quickly that the ruffly (is that even a word?) part of the legs that's on the outside of the elastic has to be pulled out. Otherwise all the contents just come right out.
I have a good friend who swears by Luvs, brand. Maybe try a few small packs and see what works?
Sorry you have to deal with it!!

SO true! My son born in May can only wear Pampers without causing me to lose my hair in frustration. I've tried every brand out there. Stuck with the expensive ones. Darn. Good luck!

Mary,
My son was also 9+ lbs at birth. I tried every diaper on the market and fell in love w/ the Pampers cruisers.

LEW--we used (and still use) the same ones...both my kiddos were big...one was 9lb 8oz and the other was 8lb 15oz and the only ones that ever worked were the Pampers Cruisers....everything else leaked.

Hey, I use Luvs, just for my son, didn't work so good with my daughter (had to use huggies) and love them, I also have $2 off a CASE coupons from Target if you would like one, make a CASE $14!! Luvs for boys are great! I have tried everything from huggies, pampers, to the cheap store brand. Luvs cost a little more than cheap, but not as much as huggies or pampers! Let me know if you or anyone else would like one of these coupons, I printed extra just in case, and they do except them, I just used one a couple day ago! I think I also have $1 off the jumbo packs.

We used Pampers, and tried the "pointing down" and rolled under the top flap. Usually if none of that worked, I took it as a sign that he was ready to move up to a bigger size.

the same thing happened to us all the time. We started using Huggies Snug and Dry and they work great. Although I think all diapers leak at some point but the accidents really cut back after we started using them.
