This is so true. My friends and I have talked before how disgusted we are when these celebrity moms have babies then are back in a bikini in weeks. Of course, personal chefs, nannies and fitness instructors could have something to do with it! It's unfortunate that so many women are actually feeling depressed about it though -- that's just not right. |

This is the opinion of just one man, and i know I dont speak for all of us...
But for me, its hard to view the women as real women. When it comes to celebrities, we have the chefs, nannies, etc that Sarah named, but they also have make-up artists and personal designers, as well as video tricks like lighting, filters for the cameras, and post-production digital alteration. For these reasons, its hard for me to view many of these women as being real people. Take Katherine Heigl, for example. I'm sure she is very pretty. But when I see her, I never belive I'm seeing what she looks like -- I'm just seeing her public image. There are other actresses who have REAL good looks, and others that just have CELEBRITY good looks. So I agree with you, Sarah -- it isnt right that women feel depressed about this. But remember, ladies, these images come from the land of George Lucas, Batman, and Jurassic Park. They can make ANYONE look good. That doesn't mean they are any better looking than any of you. They are just IMAGES, not snapshots of real people. I understand this may seem dismissive to Heigl and other starlets, but if they have a problem with it they can let me know. LOL |

These ladies would be out of work in two minutes flat, if not for their great images. In fact, it probably would not be that easy, they would first be ridiculed to no end and, their not as pretty selves, splashed on every mag from here to China and then out of work.. Therefore, they have pressures to do all kinds of unhealthy things to themselves-starvation, surgery etc that I am grateful I do not have to do to keep my job. Even though they are losing the weight faster than we are/did, I doubt they are anymore happy than we are and probably have their own things to be depressed about- despite all of their obvious advantages (nanny/chief/trainer/shopper/hair make up artist). I am happy w/ who I am and would not trade places w/ anyone of them.

I'm not too happy with my body right now but it's only been 6 weeks. I do feel pressure to get back into shape. I don't know if I'm pressuring myself or if it is society but it's there.

I am happy w/ who I am as a person. I still would LOVE to lose the 15 lbs I am carrying around since my 1.5 year old was born. I sure am trying though and that makes me feel good at least
