According to the American Society of Sport's Medicine flip-flops can now be attributed to foot pain, ankle, knee and back injuries. They suggest that you not wear them all day but only for casual use. I'm so sad as I am one of those who lives in the breathable flops and have resisted the exodus to buy Crocs...time for a change? Are Crocs REALLY that comfortable or is it just a bandwagon thing?

Hmmm...I don't know...I have always worn flip flops...I even wear them in "winter" (haha) here. My kiddos have the generic crocs and my son loves them..my daughter doesn't. They make their feet all sweaty...ewww...

I would be lost without my flip-flops and sandals. But I could see how it isn't safe to wear them all the time -- they offer no support at all. I have heard that Crocs are very comfortable -- they're just not my style. I bought a pair for my 9-month-old though, and they are adorable on him!

Crocs....Honestly, I don't know about the clog style ones. I have a pair of knock offs from Wally World and for 7 bucks I got a pair of shoes to kick around in the yard and who cares if they get dirty. BUT...I do have a pair of genuine Croc flip flops and I LOVE THEM! I recently started getting heel pain, probably from wearing flip-flops all the time. So my mom splurged on both of us and got us both a pair of the Athena style Crocs from the mall kiosk. They are the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I literally wear them all the time, even though they don't always match what I'm wearing. I even wear them in the house!!!

I always wear flips flops! I usually buy the 2 for $5 pairs at Old Navy. I'm usually bare foot at home, and most of the year I wear flip flops. I just don't know about Crocs.... They look like they'd make my feet sweat and stink

I have crocs that I wear at work due to the NO OPEN TOE policy. Other than that I wear flip flops all the time. The Crocs are fine, your feet will sweat some, but not bad.

NW Gainesville 3 boys (1-3 y/o and 2 -1y/o's) and a step-mom and step-grandma, too! |
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE crocs! I bought a pair about 3 months ago, loved 'em, and bought a bunch more...the clog style and the open-toed sandal style. I have literally worn nothing but crocs, even to church, since then. I have weak ankles due to injury in my teens, and small feet compared to the rest of me, so my feet really take a beating and foot pain was chronic for me until my crocs came along. Even got my husband wearing them, and my toddler has a couple pairs! A Gator family wearing Crocs, yes, we are!

My favorite shoes are Birkenstock. I have a beach pair that some ppl confuse with Crocs, but I think they're cuter than Crocs and way more comfortable. I wear them year round. They feel so good on my feet and give me fabulous support.
My kids have both Crocs and the knock-offs. I'm not sure they notice a difference between the two. One of my girls is very tough on shoes. I bought the knock-offs and she broke them within a couple of months. Then I bought the real deal thinking they would last longer. Nope. She broke those within a couple of months also. I figured if I'm going to replace shoes every few months, I might as well buy the $5 ones at Wal-Mart. Genna |

Hawthorne 3 wonderful kids! step-son (17) son (8) girl (5) |
We have the cheapie ones here at home. We have the clog style. I think they are the ugliest shoes, but they are so comfy! We use them for around the house and for going to the pool/beach/etc.

Oh my gosh!!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE crocs. I wear them from the time the snow melts in Michigan until the snow flys in the fall. They are the most comfortable things I own. I talk walks in mine because my feet don't hurt in them like they do my nike tennis shoes!!!!

Otherwise, is usually always sneakers, my son has the knock offs, I always found Teva's to be very supporting and VERY comfy. |

I HATE wearing sneakers and usually go with flip-flops or sandals. In fact, I just had to go buy some socks so that I can start my work out routine. I had no socks!

I am a flip flop/sandal girl. One day my husband and I were eating lunch at the swamp-clearly before kids when we had time to waste- we counted everyone that walked by to see how many were not wearing flip flops. 87% that day were wearing flip flops!
