Here is an article I saw on yahoo that talks about how you can prepay for your gas at todays prices and use it later, no matter what the future price would be.

Hmm. I'm skeptical of buying anything online, especially gas. I would be all for it though if I knew it would work -- like if I got a recommendation of one of the sites from a trusted friend or family member. Anything to not have to pay more than what we are now!

I am skeptical too. Plus my luck as soon as I purchased into it the gas prices would drop and all the fees I paid to join would be wasted. It sounds like it may be alot of up front money or tacking alot onto your credit cards at once making you pay the interest on the outstanding balance on your card and thus wiping out, or worse taking away from, the savings you are getting in gas. I agree with raisingBoys. I'ld have to personally know someone who has successfully used the program.

No, I'm sorry. First of all, as someone else pointed out, this whole thing seems sketchy. Second, I realize that what we pay in the US for gas isn't necessarily tied real tight to our demand for gas. However, don't you think that the speculators will just keep speculating higher prices the more gas we buy at any price? I just grit my teeth and accept the prices because what are you going to do?? I've cut down on unnecessary trips into town and to see family. I'm also moving to Gainesville where hubby and I will save quite a bit in gas not having to drive miles up country roads to get any place. What else can we do??

I just don't understand why gas skyrockets every time some expert speculates gas will be $5, $6, or $10 a gallon. Why doesn't someone go in there and speculate that gas will drop to $2 a gallon? Seems simple enough to me. I guess that's why I'm not a economist.
