Fort Wilderness at Disney World is fun for campimg too. You don't have to go to the parks...but if you do want to for a day magic kingdom is only a boat ride away. The rates aren't too steep if you just go for camping. They have pools too.

Suzy...I saw a picture of your kids by a bond fire with marshmellows...was that just a day out or a camping trip? Nothing like marshmellows cooked over a bon fire. soooo good!

If we do a group trip, the only problem with camping in July or August is the heat. Maybe we could do a fall camping trip instead. My husband and I used to go every year for Thanksgiving and the weather was perfect, well, ok, a little chilly at night, but not bad. Maybe we should do October?

Definitely a fall trip. It would be way too hot in this heat for the little ones.

Why not have the both of both worlds? Beach and camping? I love to go to Anastaia State Park. It is on the beach, has 3 play grounds and lots of shade, bathrooms, showers and everything else. Its not like roughin' it but it is nice. http://www.floridastateparks.org/anastasia/

Look for yourself.
