I bought 8 pacis recently and can now locate ONE of them! What the heck happens to these magical things (my baby loves his and it works well in between feedings when I need him to wait just 5 more minutes). Also, I'm running out of matching socks. Do all baby items go missing or just the little ones?
Pacifyers do mysteriously disappear don't they? My daughter doesn't have hers anymore but I remember...it wasn't that long ago when a common phrase in our household was "Has anyone seen her binky?"
Socks...I believe the washer eats them and the dryer eats the leftovers. I wash all my little ones in a lingerie bag!

We had to toss a minimum of 5 in our son's crib every night. If he couldn't find one, he'd scream until we got up and found one for him! And the little bugger couldn't seem to keep the attached ones attached!
The best thrill was when he slept thru the night, grew out of diapers and stopped using a pascifier. OOOOOH, how life got easier after that.

LOL.. My daughter is 15 months and we used the net zip up bag for all her socks and small stuff..However we were always missing one of them some way some how...Her dad would say didn't you wash them all in the bag why cant I find the match...LOL..Somehow I never had an answer. Pacifiers were not an issue until she started teething and she loved to chew on the ones they get from the hospital that are all the rubber material. Then we could never find it..So I went out and bought a couple packs of them and kept them all in the freezer until she wanted one. By the way they are great teethers. Which is all she ever used it for!! lol.
I have the same issue with pacis...I have about 10, which I originally bought to keep one in each place (one by the changing table, car seat, car, diaper bag, crip, playpen, etc...) which all of now-she's had ONE that we've been trying to keep up with! My older daughter, who is now off of them, used to take hers and hide them...when we were weaning her from them, she'd come out of a room with one in her mouth! She had secret places that we never knew...As far as my baby's right now-she's not even crawling yet, so I think the cats take them and suck on them to put them to sleep at night, and then go and flush them down the toilet in the morning before we wake so we'll never know...

I'll be so happy when we're off pacifiers. We took them away at 1 year with my older son, and we'll probably do the same this time. Just one month to go ...
The other day I was actually walking from room to room looking for a pacifier -- I couldn't find one anywhere. I went into the baby's room last and just happened to look under the crib (who ever looks under there). There were SIX of the them under there. It was like he was hoarding them!
