it was a very depressive day for me. its hard to celebrate a day when there are no support from family or friends. My (19 y/o) son didn't even know it was mother's day. No cards. No flowers. No calls (except from my therapist Wink). No thank you's or appreciations from anyone.

I either watched movies or slept most of the day, with some of the time online.

I would had liked it to be a nice day. I think it is a bit hard on Single parents who also may be caregvivers. More often, we are forgotton by family and friends. I'm use to it by now. I survived it anyhow.

I hope you and everyone else had a much happier and safer day!

Safe hugz!

eh

still worked like a dog, but hubby was sure the kids gave some cards and a stuffed animal.

I got my mom in law lots of goodies, served her dinner, cleaned for her etc. I called all the mommies in the family and some friends.

Kids went to bed early, got some computer work done and they woke me up at the crack of dawn (after a very restless night of sleep)

better luck next year!

Well, my day started off with Waffle House in bed, went back to sleep. My VERY grumpy 12y/o daughter tried to bake the frozen pie we had in the freezer and ruined it. I chocked it down anyways. Took the mom-in-law to Stonewood for lunch, (spent way too much $$). Made a trip to the new super Walmart. When home and back the sleep. Got up and watched a movie with the hubby. Overall good day, would have LOVED to stay home and clean my house today.

I'll give you three guesses how softballmom spent her mother's day...

ready...

yep, you guessed it...at the ball field! my son plays in a tournament every mother's day weekend. this one was great, took second place. he had a blast and played really great!

but the day started off with breakfast being cooked for me, my dad took my son to the field early so we could relax. what that really meant was my mom and i cleaned the kitchen and then got ready! dh worked all night so he went back to bed but the thought was there! i got a gift certificate for a facial and a massage, teen age daughter pulled that one off! cool kids most of the time! but all in all, great day!

I had a relatively nice day. We hit the superwalmart for some food shopping..saved good money, thankfully.

Otherwise..I started low carb diet, got 2 naps, and my husband did the dishes (which to him means throwing stuff in the dishwasher and leaving the rest of the kitchen, including pots and pans, for me). I ate a piece of cake as my last blowout of carby food.

Today is nice and quiet..almost better than yesterday with everyone home!

Mine was very good. Before church, the kids surprised me with a gift and a hand-made card, and my parents sent me an "Edible Arrangement" (YUM)!

Church, then out to brunch with the whole slew of us to the Mother's Day brunch at Best Western Gateway Grand (another YUM)!

Then back to our house where, in an odd twist, I had gotten my mom and aunt the same thing they sent me: an Edible Arrangement! Then, off to the duck pond to relax, chill out, feed ducks and take pictures with the kids.

Did not so much as wash a dish, a load of laundry, make a bed, pick up a shoe, scrub a toilet, NADA! Mom's Day Off!

A great day...only wish I had more coming!

Went to church, where I was beat by a mom by 5 months! My church gives a flower to the oldest and youngest mom. This year I thought I had it in the youngest category, but nope, another girl (who I graduated high school with) showed up and she hardly ever shows up, beat me by 5 months for the youngest mom. I so thought I had it this year. I guess I'll never get that flower.
Then we came home, changed our clothes and hung out at my mom and dads the rest of the day. The men cooked steak on the grill and made potatoe salad, corn on the cob and garlic bread.
The kids played all afternoon including on a slip n slide.
We had such a nice day that the kids got to bed a little late last night.

Mine was pretty nice! My husband made me a card and had my boys sign it - very cute Smiler Then we went to church. Ate lunch, called my mom, and prepared dinner to have people over after church (hubby helped - made his "famous" salsa and grilled the chicken). We went to evening church (Sunday school), then came home and hosted our weekly fellowship meal. Then, after everyone left and the kids were in bed, we finished watching the LOTR trilogy. My husband said that I could pick something out for Mother's Day, so I'll probably either get some new clothes, swimsuit (gulp!), or chaise lounge for out by the pool.

Sounds like most of us had a good Mother's Day. As for us, we had a quiet day at home. Daddy and the kids made breakfast in bed for me, and they gave me a big card they made together on a piece of poster board. It was really sweet. Low-key and lovely.
