Our children do things every day, big or small, that we think are amazing. This thread is a place where you can brag about your kids and the great, funny, touching things they do.

Last night, my son and I read a book together about opposites. I would read one page (IN ... UP ... UNDER) and he would read the next (OUT ... DOWN ... OVER). I was so impressed he knew all his opposites!

What did your kids do today that put a smile on your face?

He is only 8 weeks old and he can hold his head up while lieing on his belly for a really long time. He just looks around and picks up his head, shoulders, and chest already. He also stands up and holds his own weight if I just hold his hands. I know that is amazing for an infant!

What a neat thread. I always feel bad bragging about my daughter too much, but now I can!

I have to brag about how she is starting to write her name. She is not even 2.5, and she can do A ("up, down, line in the middle")- u ("down, around, up!") - b (liiine, little circle). She still has three letters to go, but I think that's pretty good!

My baby (well, the 3 yo Wink) was a late talker. Honestly, we can hardly understand half of what he says sometimes, but he's slowly getting better (or maybe we are). The other day I was letting him go to bed with me at night. I crawled in bed with my husband's new laptop and he said, "Mommy, you have daddy's new, red laptop." It took me a second to understand what he said because like I mentioned, we barely understand him at times. But also, I didn't realize he knew what a laptop is; he usually just calls mine, mommy's puter. Anyway, it's around this age that kids amaze me with what they pick up on.

I could brag endlessly about lil' guy's intelligence (I think he's slightly above average, but I choose to think he's an outright prodigy!! Smiler) but instead, I'll just share something that I found hysterical yesterday.

My dad had picked him up from the sitter's since my husband and I had to work late. So, I'm at my folks' house and lil' man is toddling around playing and losing his balance - he's into this thing where he walks backwards and eventually falls down/hits a wall or door.
So he's there just wobbling around and falls, landing square in the dogs' water bowl. The look on his face was sheer shock. It was all my dad and I could do not to bust out laughing (which would have made him do it repeatedly!).

Needless to say, I took a wet boy home in nothing but a t-shirt and diaper! Smiler

My three year old can sing...

I sing at church and with a band so she is constantly exposed to music in all aspects. I hear her all the time humming and singing songs she hears me doing...and she is right in tune! She even knows the names of some of the instruments ...she knows guitar..drums...keyboard...and tamborine. I love it when other people hear her sing; they always seem so surprised she can carry a tune so well!!

My first and only is almost 4 months. I could brag about him all day long Smiler hehe. We're building a house in Arizona, where is daddy is living and working at the moment. So we've been flying back and forth, 3-4 times since he's been born. He's amazing on the airplane! Has only lightly fussed once and that's it. And he's been sleeping through the night/rolling over since just before 4 weeks. I'm so proud of my little man!

one must not brag too much but im glad I have a page for it! Wink My daughter just turned 18 months and has been putting 2-3 words together for about 2 months now and it seems like everyday she knows, understands and says a new word. One crazy morning she thought it would be funny to do everything I was doing...like refold the laundry...and I told her to play in her room...she turned around and looked at me and said..."mom dont flip out" hahaha I couldnt believe it. Children are little spounges.

Im a dancer and taught classes up till my 9 month so when she came out she was ready to move. She sat up by herself at 4 months crawled at 5 and walked at 7.5....i have yet to enjoy a break. Wink but I love everymoment of her life...good and bad.

Last night my son had a clock that was made out of construction paper (my Mom made it for him to teach him how to tell time) it has hands that move and #'s etc. He said "do you know what my favorite time is?". He then moved the little hand to the 5 and the big hand to the 12 and said "when you get off work". He is 4 and such a joy! He says the funniest things-I could go on forever, but will spare everyone!

I could go on forever too, LEW, hence the thread. Smiler

This weekend my (almost) 1-year-old took his first steps. Since then he's been walking in little spurts all around the house. It's so cute to see him try to balance on those wobbly legs.
