okay ladies, I need help! please vote!
(see my thread titled ideas for a proposal? if you're lost I think I've decided on going to the Don Garlits' auto museum in Ocala. Don Garlits himself is willing to give us a private tour of the back garages for $250. General entrance to the museums is $30, I assume we'll be able to wander the museums included in the tour rate too. We're avid car fans...but $250 is a lot of money. Lucky for me I bought the ring on ebay (woohoo) or this wouldn't even be an option. Should I spend the money and make it really awesome (having a private celebrity guided tour) and not go to dinner afterwards (dinner plus a babysitter plus the 250 is just too much out of my pocket for one day. and there's no way I'm letting him pay for anything that day)? Or should we go to the museum, have fun in the public parts of the museum/propose there, and then get a babysitter and go to dinner? (he'll only be here Monday morning through Friday morning, so we probably will never be alone unless we get a babysitter that night or Andrew is sleeping (added thought, his dad proposed to his mom by putting her ring in the glove box of his old mustang, if I do the back garage tour I'm more likely to get a yes on putting his ring in a glove box. I doubt they'll let me do that in the museum. But it's not a requirement. Just would be cool) |

Well you will have this memory for the rest of your life so I would say...
If you can afford it spend the money on the tour...maybe you could fix something nice for a picnic dinner afterwards at a nice spot. The baby will eventually fall asleep and it will be a very sound one if he has been out and about for awhile. A dinner might not provide such an exciting memory and story to tell in the years to come as a celebrity guided tour of one of his favorite things. Thats just my 2 cents...good luck!!! |

Thanks! Still trying to think of dinner ideas. I haven't been on a picnic in years, no idea where to have one! I'm staying in my mom's guest room or I'd just do an indoor picnic with a movie after our son goes to sleep, but I know my mom will be in and out and interrupting all night long
Maybe Andrew can sleep in my mom's office for the night and we can have the "picnic" and movie in the guest room. Hm. |
