OK so the payback is not as elaborate but here it is.

My older brother came to visit and we went to a State Park to walk the boardwalk through the swamp. We saw all manner of snakes and alligators and my brothers ran ahead to scope out some action as my parents and I stopped to watch the sun begin to set. Once we got going we noticed we didn't see the boys anywhere and my mom began to worry when they didn't come when she called them. We were passing a particularly dark bend in the path when all of the sudden a hand reached up from under the boardwalk and snatched my mom by the ankle and began to pull her down! She was screaming and grabbing at anyone she could get when my older brother had to let go of her since he was laughing so hard! My brothers jumped out from their hiding place (they had found a dry spot and slipped down to wait for her) and laughed as my mom shouted at them. She had it comming and my little brother could not have had a more satisfied look on his face.

THE END...of this saga at least...there are many more crazy stories from my childhood. Next week I'll tell you what was hiding behind our spruce tree that shook the entire tree.

I asked my brother if the payback made it worth it and he said, "No way."
