# of kids: one son, May 2008

Posted
I'm in desperate need of a babysitter. My son has been attached to me pretty much since he's been born (3.5 months ago). My fiance lives in Arizona (where we're building our house) and so he can't help me. Living with my mom in Gainesville, but she's too busy to help either. I'm going insane.

Anyone know of a babysitter that doesn't mind babies? Everyone I call says "oh...I don't babysit that young." Sigh.

I know how hard it can be to find a babysitter. My husband and I always struggled too because all of our family lives at least a couple hours away.

I can't babysit on a regualar basis, but if you ever need a couple hours here and there, I'd be happy to help. Feel free to PM me.

I was going to say the same. I can't do it on a regular basis but I love kiddos, so if you ever need a break...even to just go window shopping for a couple of hours. We also do school at home, so we are home a lot....just let me know...you can PM me and I can give you my email address/phone number Smiler

Are you talking about just as a relief or as daily thing for work?

I don't mind baby sitting as a relief for anyone who needs it. I love children and miss the days when I worked at a day care. but if its a daily thing, let me know the hours. PM me. I can let u know for sure if that fits in w/ Tim's class schdule or not. I will PM u w/ my phone #.

My grandneice and I get along so well and I enjoy doing things with her. Despite how she hates I put her in time out often -she still gave me one big strong hug when we left Orlando the other day. It was like she didn't want to let go. I guess she and I have that bond!

How old are your kids?

A friend just had a baby and her Nanny is 450.00 a week. She is a nanny, no housework nothing else just the child care.

I have told other's and they say that's way to high, I don't think so.
If you go by the hour it's only 9.00/per hr.
That's a good price considering they are taking care of your child.
So I guess the daycare centers are a bargain at 200.00 a week.

I don't mind as well. I love kids and can do it when you need a break. I have plenty of stuff that the baby can do because I am keeping everything because baby number two will be sometime in the next 2 years. If you need me just PM me and I will give you my email and phone number.

Thank you so much everyone. I just need a babysitter like once or twice a month, just to gather my wits. My son will be 4 months on Sept 12th. I'm pretty much just falling apart. I've had post-partum depression pretty bad and he's my first and everything has just added ontop of each other.

I'll PM everyone when he goes down for a nap. Thank you all so much, I didn't expect to get much of a reply!

If you guys don't mind, I will probably be contacting you later as well. I'm currently looking for a job, and of course the down side to that is not being able to aford daycare until after I actually land a job. So, that leaves me stuck finding someone when I'm called for an interview=-)

Maybaby08 - I just wanted to let you know that you aren't alone! I was in Ft. Lauderdale when I had my first child. There, I had absolutely no family to rely upon and no friends outside of my coworkers. So when I quit work to stay home with my infant, it was really difficult not to fall apart.

My SIL is an amazing sitter. She is 15 but I leave my son with her and he's only 8 weeks. Her parents (my in-laws) are there too but I have watched and she does all the work if her Mom will let her...they are usually even fighting over who gets to change his diaper! I know I'm super lucky. She can always use a little extra cash and could even be a regular thing if none of these other great offers work out. Good luck! Super Moms of Gainesville to your rescue!
