oh and for deo stains on light colored and white tops, pour on some vinegar along with bleach for white. stains out everytime.
one of my nazi laundry mother's tricks! After this comment from Softball Mom I got very excited! I take so much pride in getting laundry stains out and my hubby is always bring home new challenges. One I use is but may be a wive's tale is for blood stains. It does work though...it's your spit. Something about DNA but your spit on your blood, some rubbing and cold water and throw in the wash. What else ya got? |

Baby wipes!! I have noticed over the years that a baby wipe on a fresh stain if you are out and about works really well. Just rub rub rub and the stain is gone!! I use the Huggies Wipes now but used to use Baby Fresh and both brands seem to work really well for this.

NW Gainesville 3 boys (3 years, 1 year, 8 months) and a step-mom and step-grandma, too! |
Tip given to me by a mom of four:
Use dish washing detergent in baby's laundry, since a lot of baby messes are food based. Just add a squeeze to the machine with your regular laundry detergent, and the dish washing detergent works to break up food particles, since that's what it does in your sink! Neat, huh? |

I have a question, kinda gross but, on all of my white or light colored shirts and dresses is what looks like dirt stains from sweating, any idea how to get rid of it without using bleach, no of them are solid white, they have some kind of print or other color on them, not bleach friendly. Thanks for the help!!

Ditto to baby wipes. They work better than Oxi Clean wipes. For everything.
My tip: for grease stains, Dawn dishwashing liquid on the spot, then rinse under water whilst scrubbing fabric together. Let the Dawn sit for a few minutes before rinsing. |

lyssa - try vinegar, amonia or peroxide
all three should work, i battle this constantly and peroxide is the best remedy for blood. always use cold water, even rub with an ice cube. then straight dial soap. my mother is a fountain of information when it comes to laundry. when my girl was a baby, i would save up her stained clothes and take them to my mom when we would visit home. she took such pride in helping me and the clothes always looked brand new. but mom always made me feel bad because the least i could do was spray some shout on them before letting them sit!!! i love my mommy... |
