Has anyone started doing this more since the prices of everything started rising? I'm a member of Sam's Club, but I really haven't gone that much lately. I'm thinking of taking a shopping trip there this weekend to load up on essentials -- toilet paper, diapers, cleaning supplies, non-perishable food. Does anyone know what the really good deals are there?

Hi, this is what I have started doing. I have started shopping at the Dollar Tree, where everything is just $1.00. I buy paper towels,toliet paper,napkins,plastic bags, candy, chips, pickles,pasta, cleaning supplies, pens & paper. And anything eles that I see that I may need. The neat thing is have lots of items I use for less than $15.00 per trip and have saved a munch of money. Also, if your child is good, you could reward them with a trip to the dollar tree and say you can pick one item in the toy department. Afterall, it is just a $1.00! They will love it.

We let our Sam's membership expire. It seemed the bulk deals were more than we could use before we either got tired of the items, or they went bad, or it was more than we wanted to eat/have in the house. As far as diapers go, I buy online from diapers.com-it seems the prices are actually better, or buying at Target etc. w/ diaper coupons. Paper products, we just buy whatever Target/Walmart has on sale. I will have to try the $Tree. My parents swear by that and Family Dollar/Big Lots for great buys.

The only thing we buy at Sam's right now is their big package of Scott toilet paper (1000 sheet rolls). I'm not sure how many rolls are in it but it's about $18 or $19 and lasts us almost 2 months.

Other than that, I've been doing a lot of shopping with coupons and shopping the sales. Sunday I plan to hit Publix for their 4th of July sales.
