Does anyone know what an herbal supplement called Fengree or Phenagree or something like that? It is supposed to help with your milk supply. Some of the ladies were talking about it at the luncheon today and I thought I would be able to google it when I got home. But I've come up with nothing.

Thanks!

It's Fenugreek, try to google that. Yes I used while breastfeeding and it did really help my milk supply. It has a horrible smell but it's worth it. I also encourage drinking lot's of water. I bought mine at Mother Earth. How did you like the luncheon?

I will ask my friend who is in school for holistic medicine. My other friends swears that oatmeal makes your milk supply really strong. It worked really well for her...

Oh and thanks for telling me about the Fenugreek. I would have never found it spelled like that. I will be picking some up before I go back to work. Do you know when I should start using it? How long does it take to work? I heard it makes you smell like maple syrup, hahaha.

I have found it's most important to make sure you are eating sufficiently (I remember hardly having time to grab a bite) and drinking lots of water. If you're having a supply issue I would get in touch with a la leche league contact so they can help you through. I am still nursing my 20 month old (while working FT and pumping) and we've gone through supply issues at times and I tried fenugreek and didn't notice a difference, what seemed to help the most was letting him set the pace for nursing and keeping myself hydrated.

Thanks for the tips, Amber! I am going to be meeting with an LC later this week. I am producing from one side only right now, and trying to figure out how to get the other side to produce. VERY frustrating!
