# of kids: 1 new baby boy

My husband just told me this HILARIOUS story a friend of his told him today...no names of course!

He and his wife decide to go out for their first time after the birth of baby number one. They, being new at this, ventured out a little too far from both pump and baby. She became very engorged and was miserable. Looking at her adoring husband she said, "You have to do something--you have to help me!" Minutes later he was sucking and spitting away! This is crazy, gross, sweet and above all, hilarious...especially if you know this man! Ah young love...

Am I the only one here who would have hit a 24 hour Walmart for an extra breast pump here? Never hurts to own 2 of those things....no?

This couple's experience reminded me of my most embarrassing breastfeeding moment ever. When I was still nursing my son, I had to travel out of town for work for two nights and 3 days. As I always did, I packed my pump, storage bottles etc-try explaining to the guy working security what a breast pump is. Well, when I got to the hotel, I realized I forgot to pack the freezer packs. So, thinking I was cleaver, I bought bottles of water and froze them (I was in a hotel w/ a freezer/fridge). Well, on the way back home, my plane was delayed several hours! The bottles thawed out. I did not realize this and put them in the over head bin on the plane. Due to cabin pressure, or something, one of the bottles exploded and water poured all over the guy sitting next to me. For one brief minute, I thought it must have been the breast milk that exploded- not realizing the ice melted. At least it was just the water and I could pretend I must have forgotten about a water bottle in my bag. He was none to happy sitting on the plane totally soaked w/ freezing water!-After having to wait hours to even get on the stupid flight-yes it was a long hard trip home. What we poor mothers go through to feed our kiddies! These days, you cannot even bring it on the plane-have to check it w. luggage. I wonder what working/traveling women are doing these days?

That is hilarious. Although, I thought you were supposed to be able to express milk manually through massage. I never tried, so maybe that's not true. But honestly, at the first sign of engorgement, I would have hightailed it on home.

That is funny, at one point when I first started breastfeeding, I asked my husband to do the same, he adamently said NO WAY!! I quickly learned not to go to far from baby or the pump.

Ok...I don't get why it's so gross?!?! The baby drinks it.....

I was in the movies once and had to massage and squirt it in the toilet (since I didn't want to bear my breasts at the sink). I'm sure someone thought there was a man since I was facing the toilet. But oh what a waste. I felt bad wasting all that milk I worked so hard to make.

I agree I get so upset when my baby spits up! I say, "Jack! No sir...you're wasting mommy's milk!"

When my milk came in I had to hand express for a few days. My fiance has helped me out in that manner - but he doesn't spit out the breastmilk - he swallows it! He has this theory that it makes him better when he plays soccer with his league.

He says it tastes like coconut milk and cantalope juice mixed together.

wELL, at my old office we had a nursing mother who stored her milk in the refrigerator. She would put a note on it saying not to touch. One co-worker came and asked her for some of her milk for his coffee. She's like no sir... that's MY milk. Not getting it, he was going on and on how he just needed a little for his coffee. Finally she grabs her chest and says.. but it's MY Milk. He finally got it.

That's hilarious!! Thankfully he didn't go behind her back and take some before he found out what it was!
