Yea!!! Yesterday as you know I couldn't see my baby in the NICU because of my poison ivy outbreak. Today they said if I was covered from neck to toe I could come in. I left the house in a long sleave turtle neck, long pants, socks and shoes. I got there and had to put on gloves and long sleave surgical scrubs on top of that but got to hold Jack for several hours and give him his breast milk in a bottle. He was so happy and I was in heaven. It was hot as Hades there too! Thanks for all the prayers he is off oxygen and looks good to be home this weekend. Just hope I clear up in time!

Mary,
I'm so glad to hear little Jack is doing well and will be home soon. How did you get poison ivy? |

Like newsmom asked, how did you get poison ivy??? As if you haven't had enough lately! How are you recovering from birth? Marianne |

This may be a dumb question, but why did you have to cover up completely? I thought poison ivy wasn't contagious.

I've always heard poison ivy is REALLY contagious. And like the other moms, I'd like to know where you got this around Gainesville?? I usually only here of poison ivy growing around really wooded areas.

Well, there are a lot of semi-wooded areas around town and ivy grows on trees and can be carried on pet fur. I think I got it from my indoor-outdoor cat which is sad because ever since then I made him sleep outside and now haven't seen him in 2 days. He is mad at me and it's not his fault but what's a new mom to do. That combined with the fleas we can't shake means he has to stay out.
