Gainesville 4: Boy (10), Girl (7), Boy (23 months), Boy (3 months) |
So, when I was in labor, I was ready to smack the camera out of my hubby's hand. And then like a good hubby, he put it down and picked up my hand:-)
So, who allowed pictures, you know the graphic ones, during the labor and delivery? A girlfriend once showed me her birth pictures. Wow. Yeah, I never let anyone take any. What about you guys? |

I did not either! I wish I was that brave. I also lied to him about how much weight I gained during pregnancy (not that he would have cared). The truth came out when I was given the epi and the doc had to ask my weight! My hubby said he will NEVER forget the loook on my face. He also laughed (he said it just escaped & was due to the fact I had lied & not the nearly 60lbs I gained) when I gave the correct weight...he is so lucky to be alive today to watch his children grow.

2 girls...Keriann Helene-3 months old, and Kayleena Nichole, 2 1/2 years old |
My husband insisted that I let him take pictures of the birth, using the excuse (knowing that I'm very sentimental) that I would appreciate the pictures down the road. I yelled at him when I was ready to push to put the camera down and hold my hand! He finally listened to me. Nice try. HeHe.

2 girls (3 and a half, and 9 months) |
I cant imagine wanting to look at graphic pictures like that! I mean, we saw them in science class in high school, and if anything they served as birth control at the time. I wouldn't want those pics in my family scrapbook.

Ick. No, maybe a picture of faces while laboring and of course holding the baby for the first time, but there will be no pictures of the gore. I don't even want to see that!

Two boys, ages 3 and 11 months |
No way. All my pictures are from the waist up, none of that other stuff. It's enough to have the memories of it.
However, the picture I wish I had from my delivery is one of my husband's face during the delivery. I seem to remember him turning a couple shades of white. That picture would have been priceless. |

3 kids, all girls, 16, 15 and 3 |
I have the same as the rest of you. From the waist up and of course baby just as she was born. For my last delivery my husband was so excited and moved the first two shots just after her birth were completely out of focus from his shaking.

I had c-sections with mine...my hubby has a bit of a weak stomach...I think they would have been scrapping him off the floor if he tried to take pics..haha. We do have pics of them right after they were born though.

NW Gainesville 3 boys (3 years, 1 year, 8 months) and a step-mom and step-grandma, too! |
HM, well, since my kids are all adopted, and though I was there for each of their births...I do not have labor and delivery pics of them.
I do, however, have another mental picture that is just as horrifying, ghastly and just plain awful...ya'll ready? I WENT SWIM SUIT SHOPPING YESTERDAY!!!!! AAARRRGGGHHH! And, to make matters worse, I forgot to follow my own advice to get filthy, slam, roaring drunk first! Oh, the horror of it all! I'm glad July 4th comes but once a year, LOL! |

Well, I have to disagree with most of you, I really wanted pictures and video of the birth! I had my husband, mom, and sister there, hubby had my hand, mom had the camera, and sister had the video camera. But the doctor made them stay behind my head (except for my husband). But I insisted on watching in the mirror, and my mom snuck in a few pictures when she crowned while the doctor was busy! However, I would never show these pictures or video to anyone else, they're just for me.

1 Girl, 2 years old, and another girl on the way! |
I have to say that I did get professional pictures done during my 1st delivery. I love looking back at them and seeing how our little girl came into this world!
Though I have to say that most people are not comfortable having poeople in their delivery room, so I understando those who want their privacy, and no pictures or camaras! I am now on my second pregnancy, 32 weeks a long, and planning to have our family photographer there to picture the bith once again! If you want you can go to this page and look at our photo album: http://jsphoto.com/gallery.jsp?ID=62 of course pictures are edited and croped for the photo album, and public. But over all I think that it was a great, fun, and memorable experience, and something that I will treasure forever! |

cuuuuute (betanoronha)
We took about 200 pics the first 48 hours for my first, second was much less but still gooood photos. mostly me laying in bed, panic and tired, and other shots here and there, the baby, people holding them etc... I wouldn't want anything graphic, even tho when I see it on TV I cry every time....but any other angle would have been fine with me... I live pretty far from a majority of my fam so it wasn't a busy delivery room for extra people to do that. |
